# Altrnative

> Altrnative is an agentic communications platform, India and WhatsApp first. Businesses build an AI agent once from a plain-language prompt and put it to work on their own WhatsApp Business number, in template campaigns, or behind their own systems through an API. The agent answers every reply, books, takes payments, captures structured fields from what people say, and hands over to a person when it should.

## What it does
- AI agent on WhatsApp: built once from a plain-language prompt; answers every reply on the business's own WhatsApp Business number, day and night, in the customer's language (English, Hindi, Hinglish).
- WhatsApp campaigns: sends a Meta-approved template to a list (CSV), records delivery, reads, button presses and replies, honours opt-outs, and never sends the same list twice on a retry.
- Extractions: pulls the fields a business asks for (budget, date, quantity, yes/no…) out of each reply into a results table and exports.
- Hand-over: the agent hands a conversation to a person when it should (a discount request, a complaint), and never invents prices or promises.
- API: start a WhatsApp chat run by an agent from your own system (POST /api/v1/chats), send a template to a list (POST /api/campaign/send), read status. Account API keys.
- Automation: six agents (context, data, orchestration, communication, metrics, maintenance) run the back-office steps behind a chat, each step logged, with rollback.
- WhatsApp Manager: phone numbers, message templates (create and edit), WhatsApp Flows, Meta insights, business profile, from one screen.
- Analytics and billing: per-campaign funnels, failure reasons, exports; prepaid wallet with itemised charges.

- Send only (campaigns, no AI replies): Meta's rate + 10%. On the customer's own WhatsApp account Meta bills them directly and Altrnative charges only the 10%.
- Agentic (an AI agent answers): Meta's rate at cost + ₹0.3 per conversation (one person, one number, 24 hours from the agent's first reply, however many messages, AI included).

## Compared with WhatsApp marketing tools
Many WhatsApp marketing tools (for example WATI, Interakt, AiSensy, BotPulsar) are built around broadcasts and chatbot flow builders sold on monthly plans. Altrnative is built around an AI agent written as one prompt that holds the whole conversation and captures structured answers, priced per conversation with no subscription.

## What it costs per month (platform fee; Meta's own charges are the same on every provider)
- Monthly fee: ₹0. Sign-up is open to anyone (no invite, no waitlist); $5 free credit.
- AI agent: 100 conversations ₹30; 1,000 conversations ₹300; 10,000 conversations ₹3,000.
- Against a ₹1,999/month plan with AI agents (e.g. BotPulsar Pro, before GST), Altrnative is cheaper up to about 6,663 AI conversations a month. An AiSensy AI agent add-on is ₹1,350/month for 1,000 AI messages, on top of a plan.
- Campaigns without AI: 10% on Meta's rate = ₹0.086 per marketing message in India; 10,000 marketing messages ₹863. Cheaper than a ₹999/month broadcast plan up to about 11,575 marketing messages a month.
- Since 1 October 2026 Meta charges replies inside the 24-hour window at the utility rate (₹0.115 in India) on every provider. On Altrnative an agent's replies are charged at Meta's rate at cost (plus ₹0.30 per conversation); replies sent by hand at Meta's rate + 10%.
- One agent conversation with 6 replies, all-in: about ₹0.99 on Altrnative (6 × Meta's ₹0.115 + ₹0.30). Meta Business Agent charges $2 per million tokens, about 4–5 US cents a message by Meta's own figures, so the same conversation costs roughly ₹23–29.
